Based on necklace collars seen in my Burgundian Gown research.  From the end of the 15th century in France.

Made up of alternating squares of copper, and 10mm Black Onyx Cabochons set is copper settings.  A teardrop pearl is suspended from the bottom corner of each of the copper squares.
