I've always had an interest in medieval things since I was really young and started reading my parent's fantasy library. At college, I was introduced to the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronisms). It was right up my alley, and I've been a sometimes member of the society ever since. When I first joined, I needed some garb, and therefore made my first gown. You'll see me in it in almost all of the photos. After making random items for friends and family for several years, it occured to me to try my hand at doing it for income. Therefore Barb's Garb came about.
I specialize in medieval clothing, and do my best to be authentic. I've got lots of books and spend alot of time staring at paintings and sculpture from the time period trying to puzzle out how they did it. In my days of attending Faires I've seen alot of Renaissance garb, but not much Medieval garb, so I thought I'd make my mark here.
Please knock around the site, and feel free to let me know what you think. Hopefully my line of garb and accessories will be expanding rapidly, but if there's something that you'd like but don't see, let me know, and I'll gladly create it for you.
